Why number of YouTube subscribers is an overrated metric

A lot of people ask me how I got so many subscribers on my YouTube channel

At least, from a traffic/engagement perspective —for me, the number really doesnt matter so much, when I am getting 70%+ traffic from non-subscribers

There could be so many who just hit the Subscribe button and then turned off all notifications from your channel

I think what matters are the ones who are loyal enough to watch the content you upload everytime and maybe share/post comments. These are the subscribers who really matter and all your effort should be towards fulfiling their wishlists
